Code of Conduct
Code of Conduct
By participating in CARD Adult Sports programs, all persons agree to abide by this code. More information and policy is available at chicorec.gov/card-code-of-conduct
All players, coaches, Team Managers, and spectators must uphold these standards at every CARD program site and event.
Team Managers are accountable for their entire team. It is their responsibility to ensure all players, coaches, and affiliated spectators understand and comply with the Code of Conduct at all times.
Be Safe
No dangerous play, physical aggression, or threatening behavior of any kind.
Be Respectful & Kind
Treat opponents, officials, staff, and spectators with dignity at all times.
Be Responsible
Own your actions. Coaches and managers are responsible for their players and spectators.
Disparaging remarks, use of expletives, and negative comments constitute unsportsmanlike behavior and will not be tolerated.
Recurring offenses are cumulative and incur consequences beyond minimum penalties.
Suspensions apply to all CARD sports leagues.
All determinations made by CARD staff regarding Code of Conduct violations are final and binding — they are not subject to appeal, debate, or review.
CARD Staff Ejection Authority
CARD staff has full authority to eject any player, team manager, coach, or spectator at any time — on any CARD program site — if their behavior is deemed unsafe or unsportsmanlike. This determination is made at the sole discretion and opinion of CARD staff.
Anyone ejected must leave the program site immediately and completely. If negative behavior persists, CARD reserves the right to remove the entire team.
Every ejection carries an automatic minimum of season-long probation. Depending on the nature of the incident, ejection may also result in suspension from future CARD programming.
